Bay Park and Bay Ho are two centrally located neighborhoods within a short drive of Downtown San Diego on Interstate 5. Bay Park is bordered to the west by Mission Bay; Bay Ho lies immediately north of Bay Park, with Pacific Beach to the neighborhood’s west. Both boast spectacular Mission Bay views and are together two of the trendiest neighborhoods in San Diego. The San Diegan has called Bay Park the city’s “most livable” neighborhood.

The area offers an eclectic mix of commercial development and quiet, residential streets. Bay Park and Bay Ho are hard to beat for convenience, within easy reach of Downtown, Clairemont, Pacific Beach, Mission Valley, and Old Town. Much of the real estate was developed in the mid-20th century, and the most sought-after properties are those enjoying spectacular sunset views over the waterfront.

Morena Boulevard offers a fine selection of shops, restaurants, and nightlife spots along Bay Park’s eastern edge. Highlights here include upscale food and a fine selection of beer, wine, and cocktails at Luce Bar and Kitchen, fresh seafood tacos and sandwiches at Bay Park Fish Company, and Italian-style fine dining at Baci. Siesel’s Meats is a must-visit for home cooking, offering premium meats along with marinated and gourmet items.

Claremont Town Square is immediately adjacent to Bay Ho, with dozens of restaurants and recognizable retailers. It also has a multiplex cinema that screens the latest blockbusters and indie films plus classic movies and special family-orientated showings. Bay Park and Bay Ho are both hubs of San Diego’s booming craft beer scene, with many local bars and breweries taking part in November’s San Diego Beer Week.

Mission Bay Park is full of opportunities to enjoy the waterfront, with activities including paddle boarding, kayaking, kite surfing, sailing, and water skiing. Mission Bay Park covers 4,600 acres--roughly equal parts water and land. Its beaches have areas for picnics, campfires, and barbeques, and Tecolote Canyon offers more outdoor recreation inland. Over six miles of hiking, jogging, and biking trails wind through Tecolote Canyon Nature Park, while Tecolote Canyon Golf Course has a 3,165-yard course with challenging holes that has earned it Southland Golf magazine’s award for “Best Challenge at an Executive Golf Course.”
