Lively community with miles of beachfront and excellent surf spots.
WELCOME TO PACIFIC BEACH
Pacific Beach is an electric beachfront community in northeast San Diego, bounded by the waters of the Pacific Ocean to the west and Mission Bay to the south. The neighborhood is named for its sand-covered coastal stretch, tracked by a 3.2-mile stretch of boardwalk and lined with hip bars and relaxed cafes. Mission Beach extends along a narrow spit of land to Pacific Beach’s south, dividing Mission Bay from the ocean. The neighborhood is known as a surfing hotspot, as well as a hub of restaurants, retail, and nightlife.
Real estate within Pacific Beach includes single-family homes, townhomes, and condominiums. Property along the oceanfront is particularly prized, these homes typically valued at several million dollars.
Pacific Beach is brimming with youthful energy. There are great places to eat drink dotted throughout, such as The Patio on Lamont, which serves craft cocktails and New American-style small plates in a trendy setting. Other restaurant options include Enoteca Adriano, an intimate Italian restaurant with al fresco dining.
Garnet Avenue is a bustling strip of dining, entertainment, and commerce. Highlights here include internationally-inspired tapas and craft beers at Crushed and fresh fish tacos and microbrews at The Pacific Beach Fish Shop. Mission Boulevard is full of fashion boutiques and laid back bars. For groceries, Pacific Beach has a Trader Joe’s, numerous independent markets, and a farmers market held each Tuesday.
Law Street Beach at the northern end of Pacific Beach’s coastal stretch is one of the best places to catch the surf. Inland, Kate Sessions Park’s grassy incline has some of San Diego’s most incredible ocean views. In October, the Pacific Beachfestfeatures four stages of live music, food and craft beer vendors, a taco contest, a 5K run, and a variety of family-friendly activities.
